Have you ever dream of being rich?

If I were the jackpot winner on the lottery, first, I would be in shock and then I would burst into tears. But later, I would feel over the moon and I would accept it. Moreover, I would spend that money on me, my family, my pets and I would also donate to a charity to help Third World children.

On the one hand, I would try not to throw money, but I would waste some money on buying me enough clothes, a car, a house, and a smartphone, things that I need. Moreover, I would travel around the world with my relatives inviting them for an amazing holidays all-expenses paid. I would also like to spend money on a family meal as a sign that I remember them. But the most important thing, above all, would be pay my sister’s wedding and my niece’s baptism.

As I would be seriously rich, I would try to invest on future technologies, to gain more money and to have an income all my life. Therefore, I would make an effort to not be in debt. I would also like to help animals and people in need, for instance, I would help endangered, mistreated or abandoned species and poor and sick people.

Nevertheless, the most important thing to spend money on, and the main reason to save up money, would be on my degree. Furthermore, I would also like to put away money for my dental device and above all, on my jaw operation in 2 years. In fact, saving money would be my first purpose. In this way, as far as I am concerned, the most important factor would be to be ready for future expenses.

To sum up, I would say that if I hit the jackpot, I would save a lot of money. Later, I would buy a car and a new smarthphone, due to the fact that the mine is broken. In addition, I would also think of my family and needed people. In this way, I would do a family meal and I would give money to charities.

Essay (week 11)

Education is a free right which has many purposes which depends on the perspective of each one. Some people believe that state does not make a right use of education. The main reason to believe it, is that education wants people to be obedient, cooperative and dogmatic. In this way, most of intellectual and the average citizen consider that this powerful structure of the society should promote other human- being characteristics. For instance, imagination and creativity, at the same time that make students independent and free.

Nowadays, it is a fact that teaching is focused on passing test. Students usually absorb materials and information with the purpose of repeating them in the exams. They just study hard to pass the exam, and frequently learning by heart without understanding the information. Moreover, sometimes students get confused, since they are educated into being cooperative working in groups, but finally they have to compete in the capitalist society market, by being best than the others.

On the other hand, new technologies are incredibly useful to search, inform and communicate us. However, some people become puppets of the dogmatism. Therefore, they do not question if what they are reading are reliable or not. They often just copy, and sometimes without understand it. For this reason, we have to know how to evaluate and interpret the information that we are given. In addition, these advances in technology, especially Internet, can be a great way to improve our creativity, originality… To make a difference from the others, letting our imagination fly.

If education were turned into a structure based on the progress of the human-being, with a sense of distinctiveness, this powerful organisation would promote the imagination. Furthermore, it would allow people to act freely and be independent. The highest goal in life should be work in the job of our dreams, that one which makes us feel alive. Whereas the worst mistake that some people make is to work in a job that do not interest us, or even that we hate. Most of students are in a course or degree that it really does not interest them. This situation can be provoked because of lack of information or due to the fact that these studies are more demanded or better-paid.

Education should encourage creative exploration. In this way, students would not change into clones, just absorbing materials such as sponges. In addition, they should be taught to be more competitive in the same way they are taught to work in groups and to help the others. Education is a free right which we should make a right use of it with the purpose of teach them to be different, unique and above all, to know who to defend what they want and to achieve it.

Admire or be admired?

Everybody admires at least one person. Some people admire famous icons, whereas others admire people with whom are closer. Personally, the person who I most admired is my father.

He used to work as a taekwondo teacher, and afterwards, we was able to set up his own business in the construction sector before the crisis. For this reason, he was able to won lot of money, which he invest in buying more houses to sell or rent them.

He has always been into sports, and after having a heart attack when he was cycling, we was able to survive, doctors said: “You just born again”, after being at UCI, he was able to continue his past life without issues, and, nowadays, he continue working building houses.

He is a medium height men with smooth skin. He has a sleek hair and a slender waist. His lips are thin and his eyes are brown. Physically, I bear a striking resemblance to my father.

On the other hand, he is a striking self-confident portly gentleman. He always has set high standards and he as an outgoing personality and a good sense of humour. Intelligence and wisdom are her better virtues.

In this way, the person I most admire is my father. He was able to look after my mother, brothers and me without having important studies. He survived after a heart attack and despite everything, he continues doing sport and working.

My composition about drugs (week 10)

Do young people need to smoke or drink to have a good time with their friends? The majority may would say no. When teenagers go clubbing or even go to a party or birthday, one of the most usual questions is “Who is going to drink?” The answer of most of them would be “me”. This situation can be a problem due to the fact that they start being dependent on drugs to have fun.

Modern teenagers start smoking because of their living space, because dad or mom do it. Another situation can be when they are pressured to try these drugs. However, the first time that adolescent smoke is because of being strongly influenced by their friends, who persuade them to try it once. Although they promise do it in a single occasion they begin doing it frequently.

It is assumed that alcohol helps people to be more self-confident, social and even be funnier. Moreover, under the effect of drugs, it is easier to make friends. It is also believed that alcohol allows us to get our problems off our chest. But one of the most important factors is that consuming a little quantities of alcohol the heart gets stronger. On the other hand, tobacco reduces the possibilities of being obese at the same time that it is a protection against Parkinson. For this reason, it is true that there are some positive effects.

Nonetheless, there are many more disadvantages. For instance, alcohol reduces the ability of concentration and self-control, it also damages the liver and the stomach. Likewise, tobacco destroys lungs and the cardiovascular system. It can produce bronchitis, infections… In this way, the negative effects overcome the advantages.

Lots of teenagers are becoming dependents on drugs. They usually say “yes” to try or consume these substances. Although it allows adolescents to have funnier experiences, it also can produce some negative effects which will have an effect on the future. Therefore, teens should learn to say no more times and think about their future health. What are we waiting to make them to come to their senses?

Introduction and conclusion (week 9)

INTRODUCTION:

To begin with, it is said that Zoos are the animal prisons, an extreme limitation of the freedom they should have. It is certain that Zoo’s animal live in limited spaces with the purpose of being exhibited to people. These specimens have to eat what carers decide, that which sometimes suppose an eating disorder. Captive animals also feel depressed and stressed. As far as I am concerned that is a clear animal mistreated psychologically and physically, what I consider an injustice which we should end.

CONCLUSION:

To conclude, Zoos are a clear example of animal mistreat, since they cannot move loosely, neither do what they would like. As a consequence, these poor animals feel damaged psychologically and physically. For this reason, as I have suggested before, people should be who should go to the animal kingdom inside a cage to visit wild animals. We just have to change our mind and be more empathetic.

Should animals be kept in zoos?

It is said that Zoos are the animal prisons, due to the fact that they start living in a limited space just with the purpose of being displayed to people, eating what carers decide… That is, being mistreated psychologically and physically.

Although, having wild animals near us is useful to improve our knowledge and to satisfy our curiosity, we know that animals suffer, since they have emotions and feelings. They can get depressed, put on weight, since they cannot move as they would like to do…

It is a fact that animals have to live in the animal kingdom, because the animals from zoo are not household pet such as a dog or a cat, so they must not be in captivity, and specially not animals who are endangered.

Nevertheless, from my point of view there is something worse than Zoos, and it is the circus, where lions, tigers, monkeys, etc. are mistreated, incarcerated into grilles less spacious, and at time, without food for a long time, given that it is their method to teach, letting them into the cages without food or mistreating physically. And this is getting worse and worse, since tamers try to improve their tricks with animals, what suppose a lot of negative consequences to these specimens.

So, definitely, I consider that Zoos are the animal prisons. For this reason, we should change our mind and be always us who should visit wild animals in their natural space, being us inside a cage.

Dreaming alive

One of my best dreams is to embarking on an incredible adventure with a light luggage food, water and basic clothes. And with that I mean going to nature with a friend and see breath-taking sceneries with terrific views, for instance: lakes, ocean, mountains, cliffs, etc. In that way, I feel like setting off by caravan and go for a trip for a month, just with food, drinks and a tent.

I would also like to do extreme sports, for instance: parachuting, bungee jumping, water skiing, kiteboarding, etc. in any open space.  Even I want to have an adventure on an air balloon around the country, in the future. So, I would love to have a hair-raising experience, and as I am a keen photographer, I would record all these moments. Moreover, it would fascinate me if I could make a tree house in the forest or on a hill. I would look for my groceries, and for a river to take water. Thereby, I would try to survive by myself.

Finally, one of the most adventure experiences would be going as a voluntary to Africa, to help African’s people from Mali, Nigeria, Argelia, etc. It would be a change of mind, and I would have to get used to their customs, habits, diet, and also their different ways to live.
